The Holden Commodore was built in Australia and is sold in Australia and New Zealand. It was the favorite vehicle for use by police departments in both countries from the 190's up until the end of Austrailan production in 2017.  In the 2000's it was rear drive, and powered by a Chevrolet 5.7 litre V-8 Generation III engine. Holden built special left hand drive versions of this car for the Middle East, and are sold as the Chevrolet Lumina and and longer wheelbase Chevrolet Caprice. Sold in Middle Eastern countries such as Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qutar, Yeman, Oman, and United Arab Emirates. The Chevrolet Caprice and Lumina were sold by GM along side the American made Chevrolet Malibu, Corvette, and Chevy Trucks.
Chevrolet Lumina was a rear drive sedan is powered by a  325  hp, V8, and was made in Australia. The Lumina was basslily the same as the Holden Commodore SS  that was sold in Australia. Chevrolet Caprice was a rear drive sedan is powered by a  325  hp, V8, and was made in Australia. This Chevrolet Caprice was basically the same car as the Holden Caprice/Statesman that was sold in Australia. In 2011, updated version of the Caprice began to be sold to police depepartments in North America as the Chevrolet Caprice PPV, only sold as a police package to law enforcement. The last  generation Holden Commadore was introduced 2014 model year, and was sold in the United States as the Chevrolet SS, begining in fall 2013.
