2007-2014 Chevrolet Tahoe PPV & SSV In 2007 an all new Tahoe was introduced, and Chevrolet offered a full police package on the 2 wheel drive version and a special service version in 4 wheel drive. Both the PPV and SSV versions were equiped with a 320 hp, 5.3L Vortec V8, heavy-duty six-speed automatic transmission. (1) (3) The 2WD Chevrolet Tahoe PPV has a number of features that sets it apart from its civilian counterpart. The Tahoe PPV is lower to the ground, delivering improved handling, especially at high speeds. The front and rear suspensions feature stiffer springs and shocks. (2)  The Tahoe Special Service is similar to the Tahoe PPV, but is offered in 4 wheel drive, and higher ride hight, and was not designed for high speed pursuit.
