2015-2020 Chevrolet Tahoe PPV & SSV For model year 2015 Chevrolet introduced a all new Tahoe, and continued to offer Police Pursuit Vehicle and  Special Service Vehicle packages for the law enforment market. For the first time, the Tahoe PPV (pursuit rated) version was available in both 2 wheel drive and 4 wheel drive. Prior years pursuit rated PPV versions were 2 wheel drive only, with prior years 4x4 Tahoes limited to the non-pursuit rated Special Service Vehicle package . Ford had offered the smaller, car based, pursuit rated Police Interceptor Utility since 2013 model year. The 2015 Tahoe was the first full sized, 4x4 suv with a pursuit rated police package. The first 2 wheel drive Tahoe PPV had been introduced in 1997 as the first ever pursuit rated police suv. New for 2015 was a 5.3L EcoTec3 V8 engine. The Tahoe 9C1 PPV Package (2wd and 4x4)  includes: Heavy-duty police-rated suspension with unique StabiliTrak performance calibration, front independent torsion bar, stabilizer bar and rear multi-link with coil springs. Police brakes, black steel wheels with bolt-on center caps, P265/60R17 all-season v-rated tires with matching full-size spare and underbody shields. Front bumper cover with unique brake cooling knock-outs and modified lower air dam. High-capacity air cleaner, dual battery isolator with 730 cold-cranking amp auxiliary battery, 170 amp high output alternator, auxiliary battery circuit for customer connection located in rear cargo area, electrical power & vehicle signals for customer located on center front floor and under dash surveillance mode circuit. Certified speedometer, work truck steering wheel, third row seat delete, unique tailgate struts and roof rail mounted head-curtian delete. The Tahoe 4x4 Special Service Vehicle includes: high-capacity air cleaner, 170 amps high output alternator, 730 cold-cranking amp auxiliary battery, electrical power and vehicle signals for customer connection located at the center front floor, auxiliary battery circuit for customer connection located in the rear cargo area, underbody shield, delete roof rail mounted head-curtians, third row seat delete and active 2-speed transfer case.
