The Neighborhood Services Unit was formed in 2001 by combining two other units, the Environmental Response Unit, which targeted illegal trash dumpers, and the Abandoned Auto Unit. The unit is based in the Kensington section of the city and handles quality of life, lower priority calls throught the city as needed, so that the local district officers can handle the higher priority calls in their area. In 2009, Truck Enforcement was transfered from Traffic to Neighborhood Services. |
