McHenry County, Illinois Conservation District Police
The McHenry County Conservation District owns and manages over 22,000 acres of open space conservation areas in McHenry County, Illinois. A conservation district is a special district with specific purposes established under Illinois statutes.  Its purpose includes the acquisition of land, the preservation and maintenance of wild land, other open land, scenic roadways and pathways; and the holding of such property for the education, pleasure and recreation of the public. The McHenry County Conservation District Police provide full law enforcement duties on the district properties. Officers also enforce the State Conservation Code, such as the fishing, hunting, boating and snowmobile laws.
