1993-1999 Chevrolet Lumina  PPV  With an all new Lumina being prepared for model year 1995, Chevrolet did not offer the Lumina in a police package or special service package for 1994. (2) New for 1995, the Lumina Police Package engine was upgraded to a Gen III 3.1 V-6 with 160 hp. (1) It featured McPherson strut suspension and new rear disc brakes. The police package included Recarao front bucket seats as it had in the prior 1993 model. (2) With the Ford Taurus no longer offering a police package after 1995, the Lumina was the only remaining mid-sized, front drive police car in the late 1990's. For model year 1998, The Lumina Police Package received a new engine, the GM 3800 V-6, 200 hp, and a new heavier duty 4T65-E  four speed automatic transmission. (1) For model year 1999, the Lumina Police Package continue, with it's mechanically similar, but larger replacement, the new 2000 Chevrolet Impala Police Package on it's way to the police car market.
