2019 Ford Special Service Plug-In Hybrid Sedan The Ford Special Service Plug-In Hybrid Sedan, based on the Ford Fusion Energi and the related Ford Police Responder (pursuit rated), the Plug-In Hybrid is  for use in non-pursuit applications, it offers zero-fuel, zero-emissions operation in full-battery mode combined with the flexibility of a gasoline-electric hybrid powertrain for extended range. (1) The Ford Special Service Plug-In Hybrid Sedan is the first Ford plug-in hybrid police vehicle to market. Unique 5-spoke alloy wheels add a hint more shine to the outside; purpose-built police living quarters welcome you inside. The police-formed front seats feature slimmed-down bolsters, heavy-duty fabric and anti-stab plates. (2) The 7.6-kWh lithium-ion battery charges in approximately 2.5 hours using an optional 240V charger. It can also be charged overnight with the standard 120V charger that plugs into any standard wall outlet. Either way, when fully charged, there’s an EPA-estimated rating of up to 25 miles of electric-only power before the gasoline-electric hybrid drivetrain seamlessly takes over. (1)
