Ford Police Responder Hybrid Sedan. The first hybrid prsuit rated police package vehicle, based on the Ford Fusion Hybrid. The Police Responder Hybrid Sedan combines a 2.0L I-4 Atkinson-cycle engine, an 88-kW electric A/C motor and a 1.4-kW lithium-ion battery to have a projected EPA estimated rating of 38 combined mpg, compared to an EPA estimated rating of 18 combined mpg for the Ford Police Interceptor Sedan, the vehicle it replaced. The New York City Police Department had been using non-police package Ford Fusion Hybrid since 2010. Ford began production and delivery of the new Police Responder Hybrid Sedan in 2019.
